Reviews for Julia Roberts's Broadway performance in last night's premiere of Three Days of Rain have been mixed at best. "Your heart goes out to her when she makes her entrance in the first act and freezes with the unyielding stiffness of an industrial lamppost, as if to move too much might invite falling," reads a review in the New York Times today. The Associated Press isn't much kinder: "Roberts's portrayal of the mother...is hampered by surface mannerisms, particularly a shaky Southern accent."
