Tom Cruise now says that journalists who generate tabloid headlines are unhappy in their own lives. "When I look at the people who write or say these things, I realize it's not a lot of people doing it. It's just a few people, trying to take advantage of sensationalism," the new father said. "You just have to be who you are. Because when I meet these people, they seem really unhappy to me. And that's too bad. Because I'm happy. Cruise is seen here today in Rome at the Mission: Impossible 3 world premiere.

The media isn't sad, Tom. It's envious, as you suggest. So many of us dream of Scientology but just can't dumb down sufficiently to embrace the faith.
