Reese sues tabloid

Reese Witherspoon has filed suit against Star magazine for publishing a story claiming she was pregnant "in a callous effort to boost the tabloid's sagging sales." The suit claims Witherspoon's privacy was violated and that the Oscar winner was falsely portrayed. "Contrary to the fabricated cover story, the true facts are that [Reese] is not pregnant, does not have a 'baby bump' and has not otherwise gained weight such that she has had to resort to wearing 'Empire-waist dresses,' 'baggy clothing,' or an 'old-fashioned 1920s bathing suit,'" reads the lawsuit. Witherspoon also claims that "this fabricated tall tale was brazenly published as a prominent and conspicuous cover story for the purpose of garnering the maximum attention to the tabloid..."

Thought she said that she doesn't allow bikinis and thinks they are inappropriate?

I like Reese but this seems like a silly lawsuit. It's hardly scandalous and if anyone thinks she's pregnant, the whole story's on the front cover. No reason to buy the mag.

The only person who should sue for cruel fat stories is Kirstie Alley...
