Scarlett says she's no diva

Scarlett Johansson is denying the rumors that her ridiculous demands cost her the lead in a stage version of The Sound of Music. The Scoop actress had been tapped for the role of Maria von Trapp in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. "Her people were not 'pro' the idea," Lloyd Webber told a British newspaper. "It became clear that it wasn't going to work because the demands were so ridiculous." The renowned producer is also quoted as saying that Johansson would need two assistants backstage at all times and that her reps "couldn't understand why she would want to appear in the West End for $18,500 a week when she could be earning $10 million for a movie. It was annoying because she really wanted to do it." A spokesperson for the Match Point actress said "...Mr. Webber's statement regarding the demands is extremely exaggerated. Her management team was simply asking for terms that an actress of her stature would ask for." Needless to say, the role went to someone else.

what i dont get is why they would want to re-make the sounds of music??!! you know the new version is going to suck compared to the original, back then actors could actually act, and singers could actually sing :(
