Madonna spoke to Time magazine about her new commitment to helping orphans in Africa, which includes financing a million-dollar documentary film about them as well as meeting with former U.S. president Bill Clinton to discuss importing low-cost medicines into Malawi. "Now that I have children and now that I have what I consider to be a better perspective on life, I have felt responsible for the children of the world," Madonna says. "I've been doing bits and bobs about it and I suppose I was looking for a big, big project I could sink my teeth into." The singer hopes to raise at least $3 million dollars for the Malawi area, and ground will be broken next week for an orphan-care center that will be able to feed and help up to 1000 children a day.
