Last bit of wedding stuff...probably. It seems TomKat were already married by the time they arrived in Rome early last week. Yesterday's sunset ceremony was performed by a Scientology minister, as expected, and there was media speculation that Cruise and Holmes's Italian marriage was not official after the mayor of Bracciano said the couple would need to have a civil ceremony in town to make it legal. Cruise's reps, however, say the TomKat took care of the issue beforehand. "As is customary for couples marrying outside of the United States, Cruise and Holmes officialized their marriage in Los Angeles prior to their departure for Italy," the reps said in a statement. The newlyweds left Odescalchi Castle this morning at dawn for their honeymoon in the Maldives.
A few other details:
- Katie's matron of honor was her sister, Nancy Blaylock
- Tom's best man was his best friend, the head of the Church of Scientology David Miscavige
- the couple sealed the deal with a three-minute smooch, prompting attendees to yell, "Stop! Stop!" after it became clear they were oblivious to their guests

Everything staged; a hollywood production. How rude was it not to acknowledge the town's people who stood in the rain for a glimpse of the couple. What makes that even more deplorable is that the town waived its $50,000 fee for use of the castle.
