Reese and Jake: it's for real

Friends say that though Reese Witherspoon's new relationship with and hottie Jake Gyllenhaal was unexpected, it's the real thing. After meeting on the set of Rendition, the couple's "little flirtation" just took its course. "Things slowly progressed, but it was never something she thought would happen from the start," says a source close to both stars. "She just kind of developed this little crush over time." At a dinner at Hollywood's Il Sole a few weeks ago, "there was definitely some canoodling going on!" said an onlooker. The new couple also tooled around NYC together, sharing a quiet dinner at La Ripaille, an eatery near Gyllenhaal's Manhattan apartment. Of Witherspoon's two children with former husband Ryan Phillippe, a source says, "Jake finds it attractive that she's such a great mom. He really loves kids and wants a family." A friend of the Zodiac star admits, "They're super together - this thing is for real."
