Brody Jenner finally cuts his shadow loose

Former BFFs Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt's 10-year friendship is over. Sources say a rift developed between them after Pratt made comments about Jenner's ex Nicole Richie in a Details mag story about Jenner earlier this year. The rift became a more permanent break about a month ago when Pratt was angered by Jenner's friendship with Hills star Lauren Conrad. Pratt, who always seems to be riding someone else's coattails, reportedly demanded Jenner choose between him and Conrad, and Jenner seems to have done the right thing in siding with Conrad. Jenner underwent surgery yesterday morning to mend the broken finger he sustained in a beach football game with Conrad and friends. Pratt confirms the split, saying, "I wish them the best. They are meant for each other."
