Nicole's trial officially delayed a month

Nicole Richie's trial date - previously set for yesterday in LA - has been officially delayed until August 16. After a meeting with a lawyer for the reportedly pregnant star, an LA County Commissioner granted a request for a continuance based on the fact that the defense's expert witness would be unable to make it to court before then. "He can speak to the lack of reliability of urinalysis testing," says Richie's lawyer. "He is crucial to her defense. If he is believed, and I believe he will be, then Richie will be acquitted." The commissioner left strict instructions for Richie to appear in court herself in August.
