Studio pulls back A Mighty Heart

The number of screens showing Angelina Jolie's A Mighty Heart has been cut from 1,350 to 651 as of this weekend. Paramount Vantage has a plan to keep the film alive in urban and other key markets with the goal of a longer box office run. The flick had a weak opening followed by a steep decline in viewers. It is expected to be released on DVD just in time for awards season.

They should have hired Thandie Newton or Halle Berry...or at least someone without as much tabloid baggage.

All the pimping of herself and the family didn't help. Thank God most people were able to see through the hype of the skanks Pearl and Jolie.

It's a dam# shame that none posting here read the book that was the basis for this movie. I both read the book and saw the movie. Both are excellent. Angelina Jolie especially and all the other actors did a great job. People in the US do not want to see anything based on the harsh realities of this world. They prefer to read tabloids for news and watch fantasy and toy based movies.

Some people in the US read the book and rejected Marianne Pearl's woe is me, crap. The title of the book alone sums up what type of person she is. The fact that this woman tried to extort funds from the 9/11 victims fund says so much about the type of person she is. It is the ignorant, like you, that puts down an entire nation because we are fed up with the rest of the worl telling us what a great person Angelina Jolie is.
