Brad Pitt dropped by the construction site of his environmentally friendly housing project in New Orleans on Tuesday, calling it "a small little victory." "It's hard to claim an overall victory when you see how slowly it's still moving," Pitt said of the project, which is slated for completion next year. "[Hurricane] Katrina was a man-made disaster. This house here is a man-made solution." Eventually, the five single-family homes and approximately 18 apartments will house up to 23 families - all using green building materials and including energy-saving appliances, dual windows and high-efficiency lightbulbs. "There will be a family living here in a year from now, and this is a home that treats them with dignity, with respect, that is conscious of their quality of life," Pitt said.

All this waste of time and money and they haven't built a safe dam or sturdy dike to keep the sea water out!?
His face looks as frozen as the Arctic!
Thank you Brad for doing something that is smart and is bringing us good press for a change. Thanks for showing people that New Orleans can be a good place to come home to, but also is a good place to choose to live. Why build the same as before. Why not build better. Let's experiment. Thanks for investing in us.
