Amy's mom begs her to get help

Amy Winehouse's mother has written a public letter to her troubled daughter, urging the singer to get in touch and to come home – reminding her that help is available. "This letter is my way of making sure that you know that all you have to do is come to us, Amy, and we'll do everything in our power to get you well again," writes Janis Winehouse in the message published in the News of the World newspaper. "After all, you are still my baby and you always will be." With her career on hold and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil in jail, the newspaper reports that her mother has spoken to her daughter recently but wrote the open letter hoping Winehouse would ask for help and come home. "We want to help you, but we know that unless you want to be helped – unless you come to us – anything we tried would be in vain," writes Janis. She also advises the 24-year-old singer to "pick up that phone and tell me what's troubling you," and she is still "young and vulnerable" even though she is a superstar. "Remember you're just an ordinary human being, no stronger than any of the rest of us," she said. The "Rehab" singer has been making headlines all year after reports of apparent drug and alcohol use, wandering the streets of London only in her jeans and bra, which seemed to overshadow her breakout success. Winehouse was nominated for six Grammy Awards last week, including album of the year. "Wherever you are, whatever you need," her mom writes, "we're here for you day and night. I hope you know that."
