Lindsay Lohan is starting the new year with an appendectomy. "She does have appendicitis, and she is having her appendix removed," her rep told People mag earlier this afternoon. The emergency surgery surprised a friend of Lohan's, who said, "I'm shocked. I talked to her last night and she told me she was not feeling well but she thought it was a 24-hour flu."

I wonder if this actually means she is undergoing the gastric bypass surgery which nearly killed nicole kidman - even though she swears she didn't have gastric bypass.
