Mandy Moore addresses the issue of weight in Seventeen mag and makes mention of new beau DJ AM's ex Nicole Richie in the process. "Oh, God! I tell you what, in this industry it's my job to look a certain way or what not and it's weird for men too," the Because I Said So star says. "But I'm much happier to present this type of person. I'm not Nicole Richie. I'm not like a toothpick, and I never will be. I'm just a regular-looking person and that's okay... It's taken awhile to come to grips with that since it's definitely not the norm in my business... But like, who cares? If anything, that makes someone more special. Or at least that's what I tell myself."

Well, that's a good thing. Nicole Richie may be "healthy" but by God she is so fugly when she "smiles"!! Go Mandy!! Woot-woot!!
I love Mandy Moore and all, but taking jabs at your boyfriends' ex like that kind of takes away from the real message of her statement.
Regardless of the fact that Nicole is AM's ex, what Mandy said is right. Good on her. She's got every right to take a 'jab' at whoever she wants! She's classy, beautiful and talented. A step above the rest!
No wonder Vinnie Chase was so messed up about the lovely Ms. Moore
These interviews are conducted sometimes months before publication, and considering the fact that Mandy Moore has been dating DJ AM for about four minutes, it's unlikely she was taking a "jab" at her new boyfriend's ex.
