Laguna Beach alum cashes in

Laguna Beach alum Kristen Cavallari is following in the footsteps of Paris Hilton and maintaining her fame - for doing nothing. Cavallari charges club owners for personal appearances and has even orchestrated a bidding war between Vegas hotspots Tao and Pure for the rights to hold the reality-show star's 21st birthday, with bids already in the $100,000 range. Cavallari maintains her status in the weekly gossip mag world by hiring a "personal photographer" to get "big photos" of her out and about with beau Nick Zano, and sells the images to tabloids for a percentage. "We have some nice offers from different venues to hold Kristin's birthday party, and she has not yet chosen one," says Cavallari's rep. "In this time of stalkerazzi who invade her privacy, Kristin, like many other celebs, has found a way to try to counter and control these uncomfortable situations and work with photographers they know and trust."
